    Ever wondered how “tasting notes” and “flavor profiles” came to be? How are coffees classified and graded? How do professionals taste and evaluate coffee? Join us for a glimpse into the world of coffee cupping and take your coffee sensory experience to the next level. This is an experiential workshop designed for beginners, enthusiasts and those getting their feet wet in the world of coffee. Discussion will include a demo of cupping protocols and actual cupping of coffees from different origins.

  4. F2F: Coffee 101 & Brewing by Rosario Juan


    There is a science to coffee that is constantly evolving and growing in knowledge. In this course, you will learn about coffee’s journey from seed to cup, the different coffee varieties and what makes each kind of coffee distinct. Expand your coffee vocabulary and understand the jargon — single origin, post-harvest processing, roast levels and grind types. The Coffee 101 discussion will be followed by a pourover brewing session. For home brewers, baristas, cafe managers, and owners who want to learn more about the fundamentals of manual brewing specialty coffee. Bring your own coffee gadgets if you wish.

  6. 3D Latte Art & Etching with Adrian Bersaba


    Making coffee is art itself, but our baristas have so much more to offer when it comes to the artistic aspect of making coffee. Craft your own 3D latte art designs using milk foam in your cup of joe then unleash your creativity by learning how to etch latte art. The etching technique is considered the simplest of latte art techniques that only involves ‘engraving’ or drawing on the surface of the finished drink with tools and syrups. Learn both skills with Commune’s barista, Adrian Bersaba.
