Science and the Spirit: Revolutionary Science, Self-Mastery and Societal Transformation

September 2, 2016 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Revolutionary developments are going on in such diverse fields as astrophysics, neuroscience, evolutionary psychology, and biology.

Assume you have a PhD in molecular biology and you just graduated. In six months, half of your knowledge is obsolete, altered by the rapid developments in science overall. You now have to catch up with the fast-paced developments in your field. This is known as the “half-life” of a scientific discipline.
The half-life of molecular biology is 6 months. And that of particle physics is one year. The half-life of medicine is 2 years. And other scientific fields are undergoing similar massive overhauling.

At this rate it is not surprising that many different fields of science are undergoing rapid and revolutionary transformation. For example, ninety-five percent (95%) of our knowledge about the brain is obsolete if our perspective is from 2004 and earlier.

What do these upheavals mean about how we understand the nature of the universe, our brain, our psyche, our planet, and our health? What do they mean for self-mastery and societal entrepreneurship?

P500 fee, donations most welcome. Light snacks will be served. For further inquiries and to reserve a seat, please contact Cecille at 091988400451 or 09178997603 or e-mail whew729@yahoo.com or missionimaginalsmanila@gmail.com.
